- The Tampa Museum of Art. If you are someone who loves to stroll and look at the collections of contemporary, ancient and modern art, then the Tampa Museum of Art is going to inspire you. The museum itself will also house one of the largest Greek and Roman antiques collections in the southeastern United States, so it’s definitely worth it.
- The Henry B Plant Museum. You’ll find this in the South wing of the original 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel. It’s now a National Historical Landmark, just like the Ybor City Historic District. Henry B Plant was building a huge empire of steamships, hotels and railroads, and he wanted it to have a palace. And that palace was the Tampa Bay Hotel. Did you know the Tampa Bay Hotel is now referred to as Florida’s first Magic Kingdom? It’s a museum, unlike others, that contains the actual furnishings used by the first guests to ever visit.
